It is an invaluable resource for people too busy to read every paper but should.
***Theresa May’s Brexit plans suffered a devastating blow this week when the EU’s chief negotiator, Michel Barnier, joined her political opponents in condemning the so-called Chequers deal. In a newspaper interview, Barnier said he “strongly opposed” May’s proposals, which would destroy the
European project. The PM faced just as much opposition at home, where former foreign secretary and leading Brexiteer Boris Johnson said the White Paper would hand “victory” to the EU and leave the UK with “two thirds of diddly squat”, while former cabinet minister and Remain supporter Justine Greening described Chequers as “more unpopular than the poll tax”.***
